In 2025, 500+ business professionals came together across two Sustainable Logistics LIVE events in London and Leeds. In response to feedback from attendees, speakers and sponsors, we have some exciting new additions for our Manchester event this March. One hundred percent of respondents supported not only the continuation of our niche event, but they also provided valuable suggestions on scaling.
We noticed a great amount of demand for intimate, break-out-style areas throughout the day, to give attendees the opportunity to dive deeper into timely, troubling topics. This year, we have done exactly that, and we are introducing “BriteLabs”. BriteLabs are a dedicated conversation space, designed for very considered two-way discussions led by topic experts within an active group environment where solution planning takes place.
We’re debuting our BriteLabs in Manchester with four sessions across the day, featuring some majorly relevant and increasingly important themes which are vital for anyone aiming to progress on their path to decarbonisation within supply chain and logistics networks. We are confident that these BriteLabs inspire action, not just talking, and that attendees will leave the event with several immediately actionable takeaways.
BriteLab 1 – Clean Cities Drop-In
First on the agenda at 9:30am is Sarah Rowe, UK Campaigner for Clean Cities, who will be running an interactive drop-in session for any questions and information around the Clean Cities campaign. Explore how Clean Cities works with city partners and grassroots groups to push for electric vehicles, improved shared mobility, and policies that cut transport emissions. The session will highlight real-world examples of zero-emission zones in cities like Manchester, where sustainable mobility and public transport provision remain priorities for achieving healthier, low‑carbon urban environments.
BriteLab 2 – CBAM Q&A
From 11:45am join Emelie Olsson, Customer Success Lead at CBAMBOO, who will be providing a full review of the latest regulatory developments and walking you through what importers and suppliers should implement in 2026. CBAM went live on 1 January 2026, creating a new financial burden for tens of thousands of importers, traders and suppliers across Europe. CBAMBOO are the leading voice within this space, giving procurement and finance leaders real-time visibility on millions of euros of CBAM charges so that they can take early action, navigate compliance requirements and optimise their carbon tax exposure.
BriteLab 3 – Step Beyond the Echo Chamber
From 1pm, the brilliant Briony Pete, Director of The Circular Life is running ‘Step Beyond the Echo Chamber’. As Briony explains, engagement plans too frequently stay surface-level. They aim for sign-off, tick-box or ask people to jump from curious to committed without the step in between, which results in no connection and therefore zero action. Ultimately, people drive change and that takes trust, relationships and momentum. If you’re a sustainability lead, struggling to gain buy-in and create collaboration across multiple stakeholders, this one is for you.
BriteLab 4 – The Road to Electrification
Rounding up the sessions at 2pm, we have John Trenchard, VP, DP World Europe, David Cebon, Professor, Cambridge University, and Chris Ashley, Policy Advisor, Road Haulage Association. This BriteLab session brings together industry experts and fleet operators to have a practical, open discussion about electrifying heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). Rather than promoting a single solution, the aim is to create a space for honest, technically grounded conversations about the opportunities, constraints and operational realities of battery-electric freight. Participants are encouraged to challenge assumptions, ask difficult questions and share real operational concerns. The session is designed to support fleet operators who are evaluating electrification and want to understand what the next steps look like in practice.
