Simon King
Senior Partner, edenseven ltd

Simon is Senior Partner at edenseven, leading on Supply Chain, ESG & Transport.  He is an experienced Sustainability & Supply Chain senior leader, repositioning Mitie as an ESG high performer and launching Plan Zero which saved 353,000 tonnes of carbon for clients and contributed to a 50% increase in share price since launch (compared to a 15% FTSE250 average). Simon also rolled out the largest pure electric vehicle fleet in the UK, now with over 6,000 EVs on the road. Prior to this Simon was a Global Chief Procurement Officer, working for organisations including Tata Group and Coca-Cola managing in excess of $1.5 billion of spend with total savings of $500 million in 10 years. Simon lives in the New Forest on the south coast of the UK with his wife. He has two adult children, a Cocker Spaniel called Teddy, and is a keen sailor.

Lewe Goldmann
Supply Chain and Operations Director, Cloud Nine

Throughout his employment at Kuehne & Nagel, Wayfair and High Street TV, Lewe has managed a number of complex supply chains and worked with multiple global freight forwarders, 3PL’s and B2B as well as B2C delivery companies in the UK and across Europe.

In his current role. Lewe’s responsibility and geographical reach have expanded and he oversees and manages the global supply chain as well as product development, compliance, returns and customer service. Further, Lewe also leads on sustainability related initiatives, such as the industry’s first hair tool recycling scheme as well as warranty claim repair process.

Chloe Andrews, Customer Sustainability Manager, Lyreco UK & Ireland, has 10 years of experience in the field, dedicating her career to developing and delivering impactful sustainability projects and partnerships. As a Certified Carbon Literacy Trainer and IEMA Registered Trainer, Chloe possesses expert knowledge in producing bespoke sustainability training programmes and engagement initiatives. Chloe’s expertise and dedication drive her efforts to promote sustainability and drive meaningful change and carbon reduction within Lyreco and its customer’s organisations.

John Trenchard
Vice President Commercial and Supply Chain, DP World Ports and Terminals UK

John joined DP World in February 2021 after returning to the UK following an international career in the global logistics industry with P&O Containers, P&O Nedlloyd, Maersk and APM Terminals.

Over the last 20 years he has lived and worked in a variety of international supply chain roles in the Netherlands, Denmark, Chile, China and the United States.

John has been responsible for developing business across the maritime, port and inland transport modes and has a keen interest in accelerating the journey towards more sustainable international logistics.

As Vice President Commercial & Supply Chain, UK John is responsible for creating and sharing value with DP World’s customers as a trusted supply chain partner.

Alexandra Prickett

Alexandra Prickett is a Green Logistics Lead at Lune. She helps freight forwarders and TMS platforms launch the green features shippers need to reduce emissions. Richard Gane

Caroline Barber
CEO, Transaid

Caroline has been involved with Transaid for more than 18 years. Prior to this role, she was head of programmes for six years.

Caroline has also worked in Zambia as a Project Manager for Transaid’s Professional Driver Training Project and has also undertaken work for Transaid in Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Madagascar, South Africa, Nigeria and Sri Lanka.

Phil Roe
President, Logistics UK

Phil joined Logistics UK as President in April 2022 after 5 years as a non-executive Director. Prior to joining he was a board Director at DHL Supply Chain which was the culmination of his 35-year career with DHL and XPO. He is also a non-executive Director and trustee at the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport

Phil has substantial experience of supply chain leadership across multiple customers, sectors and geographies, with 35 years’ experience in a variety of senior leadership roles within operations and functional areas. These include Managing Director, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Customer Officer and Strategy Director.

Phil loves leading within the logistics industry and values the variety and challenge that the sector provides. He also loves helping people develop their careers as a coach and mentor. Finally, he is leading the Generation Logistics program which is a sector wide collaboration with twenty companies, fourteen trade associations and the Department of Transport which seeks to showcase the huge variety of careers that are available and bring the next generation to the logistics sector.

Tharsis Teoh
Senior Technical Manager, Smart Freight Centre

Tharsis Teoh (Dr.-Ing) holds a MSc. in Transport & Logistics and a PhD on the topic of electrification and charging strategies for city logistics. He has worked in academia (TU Delft) and as a consultant on the topics of transport policy and decarbonization. In his current role at Smart Freight Centre, he leads the Fleet Electrification Coalition (FEC) Knowledge Services, which advises logistics actors how to transition towards using electric medium and heavy-duty vehicles – individually and collaboratively. He is the author of several reports on fleet electrification touching upon market barriers, research and innovation opportunities, and carrier engagement strategies. He has published and conducts training on EV emissions accounting, according to the ISO 14083, and financial impact assessment of the transition.

James Watts
Managing Director, Port Express

Starting his career as a container transport planner, James transitioned into customer service and business development, before progressing into management roles. His hands on experience across various aspects of the supply chain has given him an invaluable understanding of the complexities and challenges within the industry.

Paul Bathgate
Co Founder and CEO, RailX

Paul developed his understanding for digital communication and information systems as a senior engineering officer with the Royal Air Force.  He has since held varied roles within the Aerospace Industry, latterly within the innovation sector; exploring how military know-how and technology can be applied to address societal challenges, most notably in the Energy and Transport sectors.

More recently held positions within the UK rail freight sector has enabled Paul to create a business model aimed at attracting ‘new-to-rail’ freight customers to switch from road (HGVs) to intermodal rail freight services.  This business model is funding the development of a digital platform RailX, a digital marketplace to buy and sell spare rail freight capacity.

As a co-founder of RailX, Paul is excited by the prospect of helping to support the modal-shift of freight from road to rail, helping to reduce congestion on UK roads and enabling customers of RailX to unlock the benefits of rail freight to achieve immediate cost benefits and measurable reductions in their CO2.

Phil Smart
Assistant Policy Manager, RFG

Phil joined the Rail Freight Group in April 2021, having spent 16 years with Essex County Council’s education service and prior to that in the fertilizer industry.

His passion for transport policy developed through his 39 years as an elected member with Ipswich Borough Council where he drew up the proposal for the Ipswich Freight Chord for the local plan and helped to initiate the East West Rail Consortium of local councils in the 1990s.

Since joining RFG, Phil has been working with Sub National Transport Bodies in helping them develop their transport strategies and priorities for investment as well as preparing policy responses on behalf of RGF members. He has written articles on Rail Freight for magazines including Modern Railways and the Scotsman.

He is a member of the Railfuture campaign group.

Andy Salter

Andy Salter has spent a career tracking the developments of the UK road freight and commercial vehicle sector. A former Editor of leading trade journal Commercial Motor, Andy is now Managing Director of DVV Media International, the UK’s leading transport and logistics media information business, covering all modes of transportation with a number of well-known brands including Motor Transport, Air Cargo News, Railway Gazette and Flight International. He was responsible for the launch of Freight Carbon Zero in 2022, a dedicated resource assisting the road freight and commercial vehicle sector in its journey to net zero and is passionate both about the role road freight plays in the UK economy and the urgent need for the industry to decarbonise.
